In this course, we are going to explore Canadian and Australian Indigenous film of the 21st century. The seminar aims at acquainting you with contemporary indigenous cinema, with the media landscapes these imaginaries are a product of and with the tools you need for examining and analyzing filmic depictions of indigeneity. We will first explore some theoretical issues around indigenous filmmaking and will then work with selected films.
