This module is offered in the scope of the international Master programme in Manufacturing Technology (MMT). It provides an advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of sheet metal forming technology and the corresponding forming machines and processes. In addition, theoretical foundations with special emphasis on analytical methods are discussed. With the successful participation in the module, students gain a broad understanding of the processes of metal forming and related machinery and tools. The students will be able to identify special problems of metal forming technology, treat them and offer solutions. They possess a broad understanding of components, measurement and control systems, and automation techniques. The lecture, the accompanying seminars, quizzes and exercises will extend students’ analytical thinking, communication and team-work skills.
