There is growing attention from the media, policymakers, and academia regarding the role of women and other minorities in business. This is largely due to their increasing participation in entrepreneurial activities, family businesses, and corporate spheres. However, despite these trends, women and other minorities remain underrepresented in many industries and on boards of directors. Their businesses tend to experience higher failure rates, and they are less likely to join family businesses. As a result, researchers have focused on understanding the drivers and challenges faced by women and other minorities in the business world, as well as their impact on businesses, innovation, and society. In this seminar, we will explore recent research on women and other minorities in business.
This seminar has two main learning goals: First, the students will acquire a profound knowledge of the research field of women and diversity in business, including qualitative and quantitative research. Second, the students will obtain the skills of scientific working and writing. The seminar is eligible for 7.5 credit points.
