In the LKT labwork - Additive Design & Manufacturing, students work with the additive manufacturing process "fused layer modelling". In this probably best-known "3D printing" process, a plastic wire (filament) is melted and built up layer by layer to form a component. The labwork focuses on the design, simulation, production and testing of components. Basic knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and general rules of FEM are assumed or must be acquired independently.

PLEASE NOTE:
The registration period for the labwork runs from 01 April 2026 at 9:00 am to 15 April 2026 at 9:00 am. The number of participants is limited. Only students of the Master's programme in Manufacturing Technology (MMT) at TU Dortmund University are admitted to the labwork. To complete the registration, please send an e-mail with your name and matriculation number to billfebrian.winoto@tu-dortmund.de. After receiving the email, you will receive feedback as to whether or not you have been allocated a place. If you have been allocated a place, you will be enrolled in the Moodle course by us.

Please note that enrolment is the same as exam registration. This means that all students who are enrolled on 15 April 2026 from 9:00 am are registered for the exam. Subsequent deregistration from the Moodle course or absence from the course events will be graded as "no-show" and thus with 5.0.
