Course Description:

In this course, the aim is for students to acquire the necessary skills and language competences for level C1. Subject- and practice-oriented case studies and problem-solving situations will be used to develop all four language competences (speaking, listening, writing and reading). The content of the course is oriented around logistics and industrial engineering, and the course participants are invited to make their own suggestions on topics for discussion.

Areas of Focus:

Acquisition of independent / competent language use in written and spoken form: Training and improvement of the four language competences (speaking writing, reading and listening comprehension); increased intercultural awareness

Assessment:

Graded Certificate:

- Regular and active participation (maximum of two missed classes)
- Completion of course-related tasks
- Short midterm presentation in groups of four students (5 minutes per student, ungraded)
- Term paper (2 pages of text A4; 25% of the course grade, deadline to be announced)
- Listening and reading comprehension exam in the final class on date to be announced (50% of the course grade)
- Final presentation on date to be announced (10 min per student, 25% of the course grade).
- 2 SWS seminar + 1 SWS self-study (Moodle, presentation planning) / 4 Credits

UNIcert III:

In order to have this course recognised for UNIcert III, students must extend their term papers to 5 pages of text A4 and their presentations to 15 minutes.
