Content of the Seminar
This seminar will draw on the latest international empirical as well as theoretical insights of diversity management, which will be critically discussed with a focus on science and technology sectors. In the context of global competition, the acquisition and retention of diverse qualified staff is one of the key factors for successful corporate management in the highly competitive labor market. Studies show the advantages of heterogeneous teams, but diverse workforce also brings many challenges, such as a clash of different work cultures and structural inequalities. One of the core strategies to deal with these challenges is diversity management, which is an approach to manage differences between individuals in organizations. Based on best practice examples from science and technology sectors this seminar will highlight the successful approaches that promote diversity in organizations in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
