There
is increased attention from media, policymakers, and academia to the role and
behavior of women in business. This is mainly due to women's increasing
participation and role in the corporate world, as managers, leaders, and
founders. Despite these trends, women are still underrepresented in many
industries, among leaders, on boards of directors, and their corporate behavior
seems to be different as well, with their businesses experiencing high failure
rates, and showing a low likelihood to join family businesses. Thus, recent research
has paid much attention to understanding the drivers and challenges that women face
in the business sphere, and their impact on businesses, innovation, and society.
In this seminar, we will discuss the recent research on women and gender in
business.
