The course gives an introduction to the basic concepts and general
statistical analysis procedures in the field of network data. After a
few visualization examples and a motivation of the statistical
challenges that are typical for the rather complex nature of network
data, this particularly includes concepts for representing and measuring
networks like families of subgraphs, centrality measures, incidence
matrices or clustering methods. Further topics of the course involve
basic modelling approaches like random graphs or prefential attachment
models
