The course is structured in three parts: First, the students gain insights into information goods, especially considering the price and cost structures, versioning, and rights management. Second, this course will cover the central characteristics as well as a few examples of digital markets, such as e-commerce, search, auctions, and multi-sided markets, including platforms. Third, this course will discuss how organizations can act on digital markets given requirements imposed by policies, standards, and regulations.
The lectures will be accompanied by group projects. Students will form groups to work on their own project over the course of the semester. Moreover, students will present the results of their projects in two presentations.
