Der Kurs gibt eine Einführung in die kurdische (kurmandschi) Sprache. Die Themen sind speziell für Studierende konzipiert:
- Sich begrüßen, vorstellen und kennenlernen
- Kurdische Redewendungen benutzen
- Über Freizeit und Tagesabläufe sprechen
- Jemanden einladen (z.B. eine Email schreiben)
- Sich verabreden (z.B. nach der Uhrzeit fragen)
- Kurdische Küche
- Über das Wetter berichten
- Über die eigene Stadt erzählen
- Einkaufen
- Arztbesuch
- Unser Körper
Parallel dazu werden die Grundlagen der kurdischen Grammatik vermittelt.

Competencies trained through the course include
ability to understand the main content of complex texts on concrete
and abstract topics and to understand discussions in the subject area;
ability to make oneself understood spontaneously and fluently so that
a regular conversation with native speakers of English is possible
without any major difficulties;
ability to express oneself clearly and in detail on a wide spectrum of
topics, to elaborate on a position towards a current issue, and to present
the advantages and disadvantages of various options;
ability to read and listen to texts independently.
